Reine is a small fishing village surrounded by steep, wild mountais. Its located in Moskenes Island in the western part of the group of islands known as the Lofoten islands, Nothern Norway. I took this shot earlier this year in February while the snow still covered the land and the Sun gently spread her last beams of gold over the wild peaks .
I think this photo captures the soul of Lofoten - I love it !
I wish I could live there too
Awesome! The houses almost look like little matchbook size. The mountains are almost unbelievably monstrous. Beautiful all in all. I wonder what it must feel like to actually live there and wake up each day and step outside to see such massive, dominating nature. The air must be really delicious, too? Definitely compared to where I live.
The scale in Lofoten is difficult to capture, I note the tiny houses, middle front photo......again though - Breathtaking.
Yes, what it must be like to live in the shadow of the moutains. The depth is great here, you can really feel the height of the mountains.
Wow, a wonderful image and I can hardly imagine what life would be like living there. It looks like it could be harsh in the winter though.
wonderful place... i wanna live there....
This village is certainly a village in a fantasy book. great capture.
This is a really beautiful piece!
